Sabotage!
Don't sabotage your dreams
We are coming to you from our new studio at Providence View Farm and we are going to be talking about sabotaging your dreams and what you can do to avoid killing your dream.
Hal is talking a little today about his story and his choices that made a difference in how he lives his life as well as what impact it had on his life and his dreams. What are your dreams and what choices are you making to hinder or help your dreams? Is it financial? Is it poor planning? Setting yourself up in the beginning will either help or hurt your chances on making your dreams a reality. So what are you going to do to make it happen?
-
Loans. Will they help or hinder? Will you take a short term gain to earn a long term loss? How much are you willing to work to get what you want? Are you willing to be standing in the end with a bag of debt with nothing or little to show for it?
-
Setting boundaries. What does that look like? What are your work hours? What do your play hours look like? What is the value of your time? What boundaries will you set with your time?
-
Alignment with the wrong people. Be cautious on whose advice you take. Look at the peoples lives whose advice you are going to take especially if you are going to be going into business with them. Discern what choices they make in their personal lives as well as their professional or business lives that could affect your partnership with them. Are they spenders? Are they tight with money? Are they emotional decision makers? Do they make rational choices? Are they overly risky? Are they not a risk taker at all? If they have a business already, how is it doing? Make sure your partnerships are aligned well. Know the people who you are going to be doing business with very well.
-
Make decisions on facts not emotions. If you are upset that is not a good time to make a decision. Don't make a decision on a whim. Take the time to think about what you are going to do before you make that choice and the reprecussions that could happen. Facts don't change, emotions are fleeting
-
Lack of focus. Where is your focus at? Distractions can be a HUGE time killer and cost you in the long term. Take advantage of business hours for work time and time for collaboration with people you need to help you succeed.
-
Doubt. Don't let doubt of ability hold you back or undercut your worth. This is a big thing that will kill dreams or hinder growth the most.
-
Be mindful of who you surround yourself with. Make a map of your life. Evaluate what you need to do and where you need to be to be successful. Where are you at in your life? what are your long term goals? What are the short term? Where are you today? Where do you want to be tomorrow? Where were you yesterday? What do you need to do to get further ahead? Now go get it done.
