So many changes!

So many things have happened since we left our friends Jon and Diana. While we were gone we had been thinking about buying or leasing our friends property they have in Pa.
Well, we decided to take the plunge and do it!

As you know our goal for traveling was to eventually end a place and settle down to start a homestead. We planned for traveling for 4 years to find that place but it happened sooner than we though and we couldn't be happier. Our friends place a has a 3 story house and is on a little over 15.5 acres. Over the next few years we plan on getting livestock, planting gardens as well as putting up a greenhouse. Our goal is to grow and raise food for ourselves but also to sell at farmers markets. We also hope to grow enough food that we can donate to food banks and shelters in the area.
Our land has a barn, some wooded area as well as a pond. We are so excited to see all the wildlife that comes onto our property. So far we have seen many wild turkeys, deer and a few skunks.

We still plan on homeschooling and this year Alima will be in a co-op. Halim does not have a co-op to join yet but we are still on the look out for one that he can join. The littles are still young and are gong to be totally taught at home.
We have found a local church that we enjoy that offers Awana so the kids are going to be doing that and Alima is a part of their teen youth group. The church is so much smaller than what we were going to when we lived in A. but we like that. I feel like you get to know others on a deeper level when churches are smaller. I like that.
We have found a great library that the kids and I look forward to going to each week. we have adjusted to traveling a bit farther to go to places. So far the weather has been amazing. its into summer now and the temps have reached a high of about 90. which il take over the 115 or more that we got in Az. The humidity isn't that bad either.

The kids have found all kinds of earthworms and couldn't be more happy. I mean what kid doesn't like digging in the dirt and seeing the slimy critter? Calvin especially has loved finding them. He loves them so much that he tried taking a Lego boat filled with water up to his room for them to stay. You can pretty much guess the outcome of that one. I found them and outside the dead creatures went. YUCK! On another note Halim has found a little snake that he likes and every time he goes outside he tries to find it. We are pretty convinced its harmless but im thankful it gets away before he gets it.

Hal and Alima plan on making a trip to Az. so we can have his car back here with us but during that trip Alima is going to be getting her drivers permit!! OH, MY!!
Alima driving! Let that sink in for a minute! She is beyond excited.

As you may have guessed the house is a blank slate. We have no furniture because we sold it all when we moved from Az so we will have to start over. For me thats kind of exciting. I love being able to make our home my own and the possibilities are endless. There isn't much that needs to be done and Hal is so excited that he can have a sound studio for the podcast as well as an office. The kids are so happy they get their own rooms. We look forward to planning, dreaming and making this farm our home.
